Homecoming 1986 In this photograph, John is escorting Diedre Chestang from Mobile, the University of Alabama’s Homecoming Queen in the fall of 1986. Also pictured are the 1985 Queen, Angie Wages and Governor George C. Wallace, who crowned Diedre as Queen. This game marked the last time that Governor Wallace would perform this task. The Million Dollar Band is playing Whitney Houston’s rendition of The Greatest Love of All in the background. Alabama won this game 37-0 over the Memphis State Tigers and moved up to number 2 in the national rankings. |
